550 Spyder Kit
Recreate this legendary racing car for yourself.The 1955 Porsche 550 Spyder is a legendary sports car with a great racing history. The Spyder race cars won at such famous tracks such as Le Mans, Monza, Reims and Nürburgring, including dominant 1-2-3-4 victories. These machines were awe inspiring to some performers in their day and today still represent great handling and speed. Attention to detail is one of the many highlights of this machine. From the properly located polished aluminum fuel filter and authentic low-back bucket seats, to the rear cooling gills on the deck.
The KitMan 550 Spyder is available on our custom 3 in. tube chassis. The body comes in black primer and includes two doors, hood, deck lid, interior cab closeouts, and hinges for the doors, hood, and deck lid (included but not mounted) Available in LHD and RHD. All components are available as a kit or can be sold individually. The total weight of the KitMan Spyder body is 290 lbs.
Our 550 Spyder kits are set up to utilize a stock VW ball joint beam in the front and a stock VW swing transaxle in the rear. Air-cooled VW motors are the standard, but the 2.2L Subaru motor is also a great option on these lightweight cars. All glass, trim, suspension, etc. are available over the counter. We do not source parts, but we do offer a comprehensive parts list with part numbers and vendors making it easy for you to source your parts at your leisure.
NOTE: KitMan Motors provides a parts lists for customers to reference and fulfill at their own pace, but we DO NOT KEEP AN INVENTORY OF PARTS NOR DO WE SOURCE PARTS FOR OUR KITS OR ANY OTHER MANUFACTURERS KITS. We can provide a starting point with a framework of part numbers, vendors, etc, but these cars are based on being built to the individual customers specifications for their intended use of the vehicle. We do not monitor pricing with all of these vendors due to international supply chain issues and the difficulty to update regularly and accurately.
